I pitched the yeast on my pumpkin ale 4 days ago. The original gravity was 1.040. Fermentation started and bubbled away nicely. The bubbling has stopped my gravity is 1.005. Is it ready for bottling? When I took the gravity, there as alot of sediment in the sample. Does that affect the gravity? Thank you

4 days is a long time.

In my last batch my T-58 yeast became a monster. You could see it swirling around inside the fermenter. It was pretty much done fermenting in 2 days. I left it for a few more days to allow it to clean itself up.

Some people will leave their beer on the yeast cake for 2 weeks even though fermentation has finished within the first week.
