The laser cutter I use are running a trial to see whether they can do these without undue distortion.
Preliminary specs:
Cut from 1.2mm 304 SS sheet.
Slots are 0.6mm x 40mm, open area is approx 20%
CAD drawing of one iteration (320mm diameter disc) above.
Because these will be laser cut, any shape within reason is possible.
Cost: TBD but if we get out of this under $150 I will be amazed, laser cutters charge by the metre and there's a lot of cutting in this plate.
I am also investigating getting the back side of the plate relieved, not sure if this is even beneficial with such thin sheet but it's de rigeur for thicker lauter plate.
