The b**tards! Linky link...

Gotta love the comment "I wouldn't want to enter a beer garden under those conditions". Those Germans take their beer seriously :beerbang:

Shawn.

What a bunch of wowsers. <_<

That said, I reckon they only employ the nice (young) ones in Summer... When I was in Munich in (Nthn.) winter 2002. The women serving beers at the stubes you would gladly pay them the price of a beer to cover up (heads and bodies). Minimum age was about 60.

Haven't they heard of sunscreen?

They obviously don't keep abreast of the times. B)

There is a glimmer of hope though.

The legislation is scheduled to be voted on next month

Hopefully before then enough people with common sense will beat some sense into them.

They obviously don't spend their time looking at bigger problems in the world. I just hope they are still there if I ever make it to Europe for a beer tour :D

The loop-hole is that when they ask them to "cover-up" you can assume that means from from ultraviolet rays, so applying sunscreen can be interpereted as "covering-up".

The EU doing something silly in the name of bureaucracy and political correctness? Wonders will never cease :)

Naturally the SUN is following this story here
And backing it up with some pics

They have a followup article on their page3 site as well I see :D

I only went there for the articles, really.

This is not all that suprising.
We are seeing similar things happen here as employers
concern themselves more with OH&S and their liability.
eg parks and garden staff having to wear hats, longs sleeves etc
to protect themselves when out in the sun.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the eye candy as much as the next man,
but as someone who has been under the knife twice & had out of the
pocket expenses equiv. to about 1000 longnecks at the bottleshop on
getting stuff cut out, I can understand people getting concerned over
exposure.

The doc once cut out a 2" x 1/2" bit of flesh.
That didn't mean much to me, but I reckon the girls might think
twice about the prospect of having a nice big scar on their assets.
We might find it less attractive too.
There'd be no need for the plunging neckline then.

Sobering, alternative thought.

Now, back to the eye candy :)
