G'day brewers,

I've been thinking for sometime about upgrading my current setup but until then, I feel like tinkering and improvising!

I have:

1x70L pot
2x50L eskies
1x30L 2.4kw boiler (for distilling)
1x Fridge Mate/Mash Master.

Ill be picking up a couple of elements from Craftbrewer along with a 12v march pump for recirc but would it work to maybe have the grain in an esky with the Mash Master on the boiler and do recirced step mashes in an esky? Hmm. This is what a mind thinks about when very bored in 8 hours of lectures!

Regards,

Mitch

have a look at the hermit threads

you could put a HX that recircs through a kettle then into esky, use urn as HLT and do double batches.

e.g.

place 30 ltr of water in esky, recirc till "temp"

Mash in

Have 30 ltrs in urn, set to to Mash out temp

after mash, drain esky to kettle, a single batch sparge into esky

then drain esky to kettle

boil 60 minutes

then 2 cubes are ready to ferment.

Hmm I think that will work for sure! Think I'll give that method a crack.

Thanks a lot for that mate.
