It should be. But there are loads of other viruses that kill vastly more people every year. Flu kills between 3,000 to 36,000 people a year on average in the US alone per the CDC, and that only makes the news if there's a SARS type outbreak.

i'm off to drink beer which i'm sure has been proved to be an effective vaccine against all sorts of nasty stuff
Agreed, and more people die during the annual heat waves here than from the flu. Still, I'd rather take my chances with the heat or influenza, at least I know I've got a fighting chance with those dad boys.

It's like the extra screw left over when you put together an IKEA cupboard and no idea where it goes.

And before long, everything falls apart because you overlooked that extra screw.

start of the zombie apocolypse?
On a slightly wicked note, I spend a lot of time working in aged care homes. I know where the directors got the idea of the zombie shuffle. ;)

Well things are hotting up. Ebola case in Dallas Texas. They have no idea how many people this infected guy has been in contact with. Austin, hope your bunker is well stocked.

He initially sought treatment at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital almost a week ago and was sent home with antibiotics rather than being observed further, even though he told a nurse he had recently returned from West Africa.
A nurse asked about the travel as part of a triage checklist and was told about it, but "regretfully, that information was not fully communicated throughout the full teams", Texas hospital official Mark Lester said.

Considering that the majority of younger Americans would probably be unable to point out West Africa on a map of the world, the nurse could be forgiven, but it doesn't look too promising.

Air drop of Nutribullets to Austin, stat!
