Ebay has the Duda diesel 40 plate chiller shipped for less Than $150. It would seem a step up from the 30 plates going around with the sponsors ( ) and factoring postage probably cheaper ...... If its as good quality. So folks anyone use one or just care to share some thoughts on the piece?

Ps anyone explain how to post links instead of post urls like I have :icon_cheers:

So is a smaller unit with more plates more efficient than larger unit with less plates?

You'd have to work out the difference in surface area I suppose.

Well working on 0.012m2 per plate so 120cm2 x 40 = 4800cm2

The mashmaster 30 plate has an area of 6440cm2.

So costs more and has less surface area.

Thanks Keifer
Where did you get the specs / surface area for the MM30?

According to Duda Diesal info:

  • More heat exchanger length means much higher efficiency. The longer the better.
  • More plates on a heat exchanger adds some extra heat transfer, but is intended to reduce pressure drop. Pressure drop reduces flow rate which reduces heat transfer.

try this

Highlight the skinny browser bar in the ebay page, right click & copy.
Go back to AHB & add reply, click on the green arrow thingy, link code. Right click & paste, click ok & add your own title.
