Ta mate, I'll give the man a ring.
While I'd prefer glass for this project(s), better bottles would do the job.

Can't you just get the plastic water ones that they sell? Make beer with the water and use the bottle. It'll work out much cheaper. I am pretty sure the Shell servo just south of the Gateway sells them.

The home brew barn In Kedron used to sell them fairly cheaply In all sizes before David took over, not sure what's happening now, though.

Maybe give Stu a ring, from memory they inherited most of the old stock, so there might still be some left.

Yeah I think seamad has it, I did a quick google and looks like oxygen permability is the issue people are talking about

The stack of bottles I've been eying off at work for years specifically state "for water use only".

I think I read that ethanol can leach stuff out of certain plastics. These ones at work are classed as plastic 7 which is basically an "all other plastics" or unspecified plastic.

Obviously they're suited to water but clean water is pretty un-reactive.

Thanks for the replies, looks like Brewers Choice stock them but don't have them listed on the online shop.
(See you soon Sim)
