I didnt even know that place existed!! Im about to jump into kegging myself cause im a bit over bottling every batch and would love to have it on tap at home. Its only about 30-35 min drive from me, Ive gotta go check them out. Thanks for the link WarmBeer.
Pretty sure that if you're a brew club member, they'll give you an even better discount. Kee is involved with both Melbourne Brewers and Bayside Brewers, supports the clubs and their members, and is a great guy to talk to as well.

One thing worth mentioning is that its worth calling before you go there... KK doesn't have a traditional store front (its more of a warehouse) and there is no guarantee that someone will be onsite.

I just bought a complete system from Keg King and have no problems. I wanted something that I didn't have to stuff around making as I just don't have the time.

I got the Series 3 Kegerater and found it was really cheap ($599) considering it has almost everything included only needed disconnects, co2 and kegs.

Kegerater = $599
4 x Disconnects = $40
2.6kg co2 = $199

Total without kegs = $838

4 Kegs from Ebay = $240 (inc p&h)

Everything you need + 4 kegs = $1078

I really like mine as it doesn't take up much room at all and can fit 3 x 19L Cornys in it or a 50L CUB.

I'm sure I saw someone here who had 3 of them with 3 taps on each!!

I don't know about eBay in NZ but here in Oz there are bargains to be had from time to time as ppl sell off a complete Kegging setup though there are also plenty of overpriced ones as ppl look to recoup exactly what they paid for it in the first place!

I picked up a $50 fridge this way that had the holes drilled/lines & taps still attached.
Instead of eBay we have Trademe.co.nz and I do keep an eye out for any brewing related bargains. Anyway the costs have put me off the idea of kegging unless I get lucky and find a super deal. Heck, you could do 20-30 batches of beer for the cost of basic kegging setup. Besides I don't mind the bottling so far, goes pretty fast using plastic bottles.

Unfornuately Im not a member of either, I can never make the brew meetings as I work wednesday night. That may be changing soon so might have to sign up.

Thanks for that, saves me going down there and seeing no one, Ill ring ahead in advance.

Cheers

Keg - 19L Cornelius (Used) $70
CO2 Keg Charger + Disconnect $43.50
CO2 Keg Charger Bulbs - 16GM (5 pack) $19.90
Bronco Faucet & Hose $14.90

Total $148.30

Technically you can do this... minimum outlay all purchased from the same place. Natural carbonation, but it becomes expensive to dispense in time. It's what i use for a party keg setup, just sat in an esky full of ice.

My setup cost $299

Included:
2 x 19L cornies
CO2 Reg
Gas/beer lines and disconnects - ready to roll
Your choice of tap/gun or other styles of dispensers
Decent set of instructions

All I need was CO2 from BOC. $40 + hire (30 for 3 months) for a 6L bottle. I prefer it naturally carbed. So it should last me a shitload of beers.

Delivery $25 from Nth QLD to Brissy. Arrived in 3 days.
Got it from these guys,(No Affil etc.) http://aussiebrewer.com.au/

Just happy with the purchase.

I must have got a bargain when I got my set up. The guy was going from brewing to distilling.

New fridge which will fit 4 corneys
2 corneys
2.6kg gas cylinder (full)
Regulator
2 taps mounted in fridge with all the lines already connected.
$650.

Edit: forgot the reg..

Thats a 6.4kg CO2 bottle :p and I didn't even empty the first keg (I was stupid to sell it LOL)

Anyway am over the spirits atm so no more distilling for me.
I am doing a 4-6 keg freezer atm and getting the gear together to start BIAB.
Just bought 35kg/1g digital scales, a 60L stockpot, Gryphon bag, 4 long shank taps, tempmate controller, C02 regulator, John Guest manifolds & non return valves, modified Marga mill etc etc...

Let me know when you decide to switch back to stilling.......I'd love a manifold....

Yea I don't think I will be throwing money away again for a 2nd time....Even if I just have soda water in it for the tin lids LOL this baby is staying put this time!!!
