Does anyone know what the difference is between the yeast in a gold pack that you get wit the standard kits as opposed to the yeast in the silver pack in the brewmasters selection kits .

cheers

Well, if you have a lager or pilsener, the yeast supplied is a genuine lager yeast. The ale yeast in silver is different as well, but I have no idea if it is better or not as I haven't tried it. The yeasts supplied are supposed to be tailored to the brew style.

I've always wondered this too. All the brewmasters yeasts come in the same silver bags (with the same serial / barcodes on them!). How do they tell the difference between say a wheat brewmaster yeast and a lager brewmaster yeast?

I suspect they're all just a generic ale yeast to be honest.
