Its been a long time cince I've posted. My brew skils are a bit rusty, just wondering if i make a coopers SA kit and add some reckultured yeast will it be as good as the real deal? Also would dex or white suger be best?

cheers - rag :icon_drool2:

Using the yeast from their bottles will go a long way towards making it authentic, temp control during fermentation would help too. White sugar would be completely wrong, if you have to use sugar use dextrose, but keep it small, i.e. no more than say 300 grams in a 23 litre batch.

Have you had a look at Coopers suggested recipe for the Sparkling Ale?

I brewed this and it was the best kit I did. that said I only made about 7. But still twas very good

Coopers Sparkling Ale:

  • Coopers Sparkling Ale Kit
  • Black Rock 1.5kg Light Malt
  • Roughly 12g’s East Kent Golding’s
  • 300g Dextrose
  • Re-Cultured Coopers Sparkling Ale Yeast

Process:
Recultured Coopers yeast 3-4 days beforehand. Boiled up around 4-5 liters of water, added in the 1.5 tin of amber ale. Brought to a rolling boil then Goldings added for roughly 15 minutes, added kit and dextrose after boil, Cooled and then yeast pitched around 20degrees.
