How do you guys convert partial mashed to full mashes, ie subtracting LME for grain.

I thought you would make up the extract with some pale malt and maybe add some crystal malt for body?

I want to do the grumpys excelsior i see jayse has a clone but his recipe doesnt make sense, he had 2.25 kg pale malt and 1kg pale?

As a rough guide

1kg of grain = 700gm of LME or 500gm of DME

well i normally go by og or gravity but im lazy so i use promash i normalyy aloww about 20 points for the lme then i work the rest of my target og with the malted grains that way you can adjust the recipe as most us pale malt so u less pale malt most of my beers are around 3.5 kg of grain so most al grain brews use about 5kgs of pale malt

hop this helps
