WHat effect does a boilover  have on the finished beer?

Finally got the HP reg firing with the HP braided hose, whole 27l of wort boiled in minutes! rather than the usual tedious wait for the rolling boil to begin,I just turned my back for a sec and whoosh the foamy head broke free of the boiler....

Appart from the mess and loss of beer I can't think of any other impacts. Unless you had hops in there which were carried over in the spill :)

On the plus side, its a great way of removing the hot break material :)

ooh yeah J I'm with you on that one, I brew in the garden next to the bbq while SWMBO is at work and she still finds something to pick on
"Why'd you put the hops there, i don't want hops there blah blah....

So I was surprised that she didn't notice the burnt malt all around the burner.

...but the worst was a boil over when I used to cook the beer on the stove in the kitchen and it took two weeks for me to scrape the caked on malt and hops
from the stove top-I still have to hear about it to this day

Luckily I didn't have any hops in there this time when the boil over happened.

I had a boilover on the stove once. And it was only once...

SWMBO was " not happy".....

Now do it on the BBQ wock burner......
