Hey guys,

I got a Munton's Continential Lager bubblin' away under my house going for a diacetyl rest at the moment. When I checked the hydro yesterday I found it was very cloudy. I'm going to rack it to secondary after the rest then probably cold condition it for a good 4 weeks before bottling it. This will clear all the gunk up right, making a nice clear beer? No need to add some finings in secondary right?

noobie question I know, but hey, if you don't ask, you'll never learn right?

Cheers

Chances are fairly good that the answer is yes it should clear. :) Can I assume you used a saf lager yeast or was it something else?
Another contributing facter if this was the first hydro reading after primary activity is that some of the yeast may have settled in the tap and been spat out when you opened it making it seem cloudier than it may have been otherwise. May be interesting to compare it with further reading samples.

Cheers

Borret
