What's the best way to get rid of old adhesive labels and other crap from the outside of corny kegs?

I actually used car thinners because I had some. Keep it off the rubber

strong starsan mix and plastic scourer.
elbow grease.

Acetone,
Thinners,
Turps,
Petrol,
Scourer,
Hot water,
Nappisan soak,
Elbow grease
And 100's of other options.

Have fun and good luck

I've used turps, metho.. would rather use acetone but didn't have it on hand at the time. Hot water in the keg helps with the crud removal.

Put it in a cold dark place where no one will see it except the little ******* that keeps turning the light on every time you open the door?

Eucalyptus oil
Tis the winner , eucalyptus oil won't damage the finish of the keg.
Dab or wipe some on leave it for 10 mins out of the sun and it'll soften the label and glue nicely, reaply if needed but elbow grease shouldn't be needed . Reapply again if needed.
I use it at work to remove sticky labels etc from polycarbonate sheets with no dramas.
