Not sure if this is in the right forum, but:
What is the difference between PBW and Oxyper?

PBW is Sodium Metasilicate.
Oxyper is a higher concentration of Sodium Percarbonate.

according to the msds it has 30% sodium metasilicate, whatever that does. I think ive seen other brewery cleaners based on metasilicate. Maybe you could blend some percarb and metasilicate to make your own?

So is one more effective at recommended concentrations, less toxic, better for the whales, etc. ?

not quite sure. the MSDS should have some hints...
