Cheers Sean,

Do you think the Camembert kit and basic equipment pack might be better?

If she has never made cheese before the basic kit and the one day artisan cheese kit would be best imo.
Then she just has to buy some hoops ets from cheeselinks,, dont need to keep buying the kits, just get more starters etc.
Also gave my partner the 2 day course with graham of cheesemaking.com.au for xmas. She thought pretty highly of it, was another partner of a ahber at the course too. The chooks have had a few of the ones that didnt turn out, they go nuts over cheese.

Weve got the ricki carrol book and the mary karlin one which are both good

Cheers
sean

Thanks mate, I think I'll do that

Just to add to this, cheeselinks is a great store with lots of range, however I've found countrybrewer provides similar products in smaller amounts, which is great for someone starting out. Means that you don't have to make 250L worth of camembert, you can try a range of cheeses and experiment a bit.
