I was looking around for cheap ingredients and somehow found that dextrose is fed to horses to up their energy intake...

At the high risk of looking stupid, can Dextrose from a horse supply store be used for brewing / has anybody done it before?

On www.garrardshorseandhound.com.au 2Kg is $12; 5Kg is $26

That's not cheap. Craftbrewer (sponsor) sells 25kg sacks of dex for $39.

Probably worth trying home brew stores for home brew stuff....amazing what they have.
By the way does the horse supply have cheap grain as well...

Ahem, so yes - stupid question.

Thank you for the links.
