G'day all,

had a look through my hop inventory, and have several hundred grams of Cascade that i'd forgotten about. The would have to be a good couple of years old, but have been vac sealed immediately after purchasing (from ellerslie hop if i remember correctly) and stored in the kegerator ever since.

I've also been looking through the NC 10min IPA thread, and it has given me an idea. I'd like to try these hops out in one of those style beers, but aiming more for an APA.

Here's what i'm planning to do, after suggestions from anyone who may have done this or similar before.

Looks good nath but ive found when you are using so many late hops sticking to the ibu/sg ratio has helped to keep things balanced so for a sg of 1050 id aim for 45 ibu to get a ratio close to 0.9. This is a personal rule and is working quite well but ibu is a hard one to say right or wrong way.

thanks mate, have adjusted my recipe to suit your recommendation.

it now calls for 190 odd grams of hops.

Might knock this one out during the week actually, my replacement little brown pump arrived today so i'm back in business again.
