Gday AHB,

I recently did a coopers Aussie Pale & refirigerated it post bottling. Because the fridge got turned on the full bottles were chilled, when obviously they shouldn’t have been.

Does this mean that I won’t achieve carbonation because they were chilled?

Thanks.

Nah they'll be fine, the yeast haven't gone anywhere - just dormant.
Warm them back up and give each one a good shake to resuspend the settled yeast, it'll kick right off.

Phew, I brewed 100lt for the Xmas hols & thought I’d busted it!

I’ve turned the fridge off & they are heading towards garage temperature now.

Should I wait to shake them or do it now?

Hold on.. you bottled 100L?! Far out, I admire your effort. That would've taken a while, I understand your reason for concern..

Yeast will re-settle quicker when cold, but I doubt it really matters. Just to be safe give it a few hours before shaking, for maximum effectiveness.

Yeah man would of been a heart breaker.
Any idea how long after the warming & shaking that the bubbles will arrive?

depends on the viability of the yeast i suspect, i think you will be right to crack by the two fiver if that's what you are worried about... just, keep em warm and constant temp if you can.

Plenty of factors depending on that.. but give it 7 days, chill one down, and try it. For best quality you'll want to chill for 24hrs before opening but it sounds like you're under time pressures.

I’ll keep you posted mate, thanks for the heads up.

Why not shake, out of interest? Is there a danger I'll end up playing with it after three shakes?

Not by Christmas at ferment temps ~18c?, hotter give it 2 weeks minimum IMO. Then chill for a week minimum. Then again fresh beer has been done many times so possibly disregard that.
100 lt bottled. How many bottles is that? Longer time can be the best but good luck and good times etc.
