Howdy All

Just a small question on carbination. I did a Bock Partial a while ago and it is a great drop, However my question is , if I grab one out of the cupboard and whack it in the fridge for an hour its cold , tastes great and the carbination is really good but if I whack some in the fridge and leave them for any length of time like ovenight or longer the carbination levels seem to drop right of and it does not have that lager fizz (?).

I carbed it @ 6gm a liter which i thought it would be god enough and it was using 2178 Lgr Blend Wyeast.

Any Ideas ?

Cheers

Whacking it in the fridge for just an hour might not cool it down to 3-4C like leaving it overnight or so would. Could be 7-8C when you serve it after just a little while in the fridge which causes more "fizz" as more carbon dioxide bubbles out the beer naturally at that higher temperature. Try swishing the left-overnight beer in your mouth an you'll probably find it is quite carbonated.

That is, providing you bulk primed for even carbonation and all your bottles are sealed, this would probably be the only explanation.

Thanks Adamt

It was bulk primed and the bottles are well sealed but your explanation sounds good enough for me .

Love coming to this palce for the prompt service on replies ,now if only we could co-erce telstra and most government departments and the world would be a better place
