Im playing around with ezy water calc and not sure what I would add carapils as in the grain table? Would it be similar to base pilsener malt?

How come crystal is no good?

[EDIT: assuming you mean EZ Water Calc]

Because it's so pale, I would input it as base malt. But either way, I don't think its going to change the estimated pH outcome by much.

Crystal is good. I just wasnt sure if it was classed as a crystal type of malt or not. I read this..

"Carapils is so-name becasue the base malt and kilning style is the same as that of a light, pilsner malt." So thought it might give a similar Ph to pilsner malt.

Thanks, I will add it as crystal then.

It was a genuine question on my part. I would have thought carapils was more of a crystal malt but your quote above does seem to put it in a grey area. Don't change on my account. Wait to see what the brains reckon.
