I noticed some auto LPG tanks for around $60 at the local scrap metal yard. These are very solid and made of SS and I was wondering whether they could be put to use as a brewpot/mashtun etc.

I suppose you would just cut one in half.

Cheers

With some VERY big earmuffs!!!!

That was a bit wrong that answer.....Just fill the tank with water first and let it sit, then empty.Repeat a couple of times,to ensure that all the gas is depleated.
Are they S/steel or are they gal steel???(Like the forklift tanks)

;) I'm with LINZ.

It would be unusual to have a S Steel gas Cylinder so I would check before going to the trouble!!!

cheers nm

They sure looked like stainless. Completely different look compared with gal. iron. Also, the guy at the scrap yard said they were SS (so it must be true).
