Last week I picked up a great 40 litre Stainless boiler with built in stand & burner for only $5. You Canberra boys have got to check out Revolve @ the Gungahlin Tip. They have a 200 litre Rheem plastic drum that would be great for storing grain & 2 of those office type water coolers. Lots of things turn up there that most of us brewers could use. One interesting display was about 150 of those ab roller things. Everyone in Canberra must have a flat belly so they have chucked out the fitness gear!
Cheers
Gerard

Yeah...It's not too hard to find a good bit of kit at the Revolve at the Mugga Lane Tip down in the south of Canberra too.

Should have seen the look on the old girls face behind the counter when I asked her if she had any kegs out back. She looked me up and down and said "...yer not a copper are ya?!"
Classic!

Cheers,
TL

You know, i don't use a lot of exercise equipment, but if I did I certainly wouldn't use a machine slung out by some Fishwyck porn star!!! :(
Canberra tips, who'd have thunk it? They got the lot...

thats actually where i got my last 9kg bottle and i got a keg from there a while back..

Now that everyone here has new bright and shiny toys from Xmas, I might snoop out revolve over the next couple of weekends - they might have a bit more than ab rollers being tossed!

Cheers,
TL the scavenger!

I have just got back from Canberra & had a great time.
Had a few beers at Debacle which had a great range, also spotted Richard from the Wig having a few beers there too, which is a pretty good recommendation in my book.
Went to The Wig for a few on Sunday. Always good fun.
Today I dropped in at Revolve at Gungahlin. They now call it a resource managment station. They had 3 vessels which looked like they would be great as kettles & an old temprite which can always be used in a magic box. Offer $10 I reckon they will carry the whole lot out to the car for you!

I think I know of a joint like/similar to that in Sydney too.....Have to sus it and report back

Now just to fund the expidition...!!

well linz dont keep it a secret where is this place

sintax

Marrickville

But more of Industrial over runs and unwanted but useful waste

Reverse garbage

But like I said earlier "I think" its kinda like the Canberra mob

without sounding really bad linz, Marrickville is mostly Industrial over runs and unwanted stuff. ok, perhaps not that bad. do you want to give a name or should i be checking the yellow pages (for what its worth these days...)
