Got home on sunday night after a weekend away and was horrified to discover a pool of beer at the bottom of my keezer and no gas in tank.

Turns out there was a leak in the relief valve which I have since replaced. In fact ive checked and replaced almost everything.

Anyway my question is can I just turn the gas off at the tank when not in use and turn it back on when it is?

Im a kegging noob so be gentle

Of course! I only ever turn my gas on about once a week to give each keg a 20 second top up to keep them pouring. They stay carbonated perfectly.

C02 bottle lasts much longer this way.

if your running gas line or manifold with NVR's then can't see a prob turning off the gas, unless like me atm your carbing a keg. once everything is carbed do as above

NVR?

The thing that stops the beer going in the reg?
I assume NVR is a typo and should be NRV (Non Return Valve).
Yes the thing that stops beer, or gas, being sent back through your lines.

TY AB yep typo ...it happens..... too often
