Hi Guys,
I am looking at using cam locks in a effort to avoid handling hot water, leaking hose connections & pump priming failures. Does anyone use cam locks & offer any suggestions?

I recently upgraded my system to use them - they are great. No more unscrewing clamps. Fast and effective.

Male ends should be on your vessels and females on your tube - the male ends could get damaged if you drop them/drag them one the ground - the females provide a bit of 'drop' protection.

Edit - cheapest place I found was tsvalves in sydney
Type A = $ 4.80 nett each (1/2 inch)
Type C = $ 7.40 nett each (1/2 inch)

Absolutely love my camlocks Paul... just brought them about 3 weeks ago from Beerbelly and haven't looked back.

Only recommendation would be to buy all your fittings in one go; someone on these forums mentioned that camlocks manufactured in different batches don't always work together (even when purchased from the same supplier). Best to save up your $$$ and buy them all in one go.

Thanks Guys that was a great help.

Big fan of my camlocks also- agree with the suggestion to put males on your pots, and females on hose ends. I bought mine from Geordi Stainless Steel in Victoria, spend some time figuring exactly how many you need to save on postage/ repeat trips in future!
