I've been kegging for a while but I like to take my own beer camping and I camp a fair bit. I don't like to carb in the bottle for this because the sediment gets stirred up in transit so I've got two carbonation caps.

My question is:
If I want to carb up several bottles and, thus, have to swap the carbonation cap from bottle to bottle, is there a rough guide as to how much extra pressure I should carbonate up to in order to allow for the release of pressure when swapping the caps?

Cheers!
Jono.

The amount you lose isn't enough to worry about. Just have your beer as cold as possible when carbing and you'll be fine - you might want to let each bottle sit in the fridge for a few minutes after carbing so they don't foam over when you remove the cap.
