G'day folks,

I am thinking of buying my self a mashmaster grain mill with some Xmas cash I got as gifts but wondering where local hunter brewers buy their bulk grain? Does MHB sell bulk grain? Or do I need to look elsewhere?

Cheers, Pok

Yes Mhb. good bloke, good service, good prices.

Cheers Punkin, I have dealt with Mark in the past but was not sure if he sold grain by the bag. Any idea what a bag of pils or ale malt is from him?

I'm not sure of his bag prices but given that his everyday prices are a lot less than some of the competition his bag prices should be fairly competitive.

As others have said he will sell whatever you need - he usually holds a few ton in stock plus can get anything you want from the 3 main maltsters/distributors. As he sells nearly a ton each week, the high turnover keeps the stock fresh.

I am not sure if he will get through his planned renovations this week (he keeps getting too many interuptions and answering questions over the phone) but he plans to expand his grain storage bins to meet the current demand.

Yes, I am a mate and fully affiliated with him but this doesn't alter the fact that he is the biggest all grain specialist HBS in Oz.

Agree with all the comments above. Have a chat with Mark, he'll be more than willing to help you out with whatever you're after.

BYO bag and it'll be done. :p

Etc etc with everyone above. You'll be struggling to buy grain in bulk at the same price he sells it, let alone find people in the area who are willing to go in on it. AG brewers in the Hunter are pretty damn lucky!

I've got no idea of his prices. Last time i bought a couple of bags from him he refused to charge me for em

I really like the way he packages bulk for shippng too in 12.5kg bags in a nice cardboard box. It's a real handy size for the batches i do.
