I stumbled across this today: this gentleman has done the statistics for beer ratings against the hops included in commercial beers in the US.

It essentially shows you which hops in are favour now, and which aren't, plus the deviation on agreements on what is a good or bad hop addition.

the beersmith podcast #93 had Nathan Smith on who also talks about some of the new hops coming out. pretty interesting stuff too.
