Brewing demo this Sunday at 10 am at Blue Mtns Brewing Supplies, NSW.
It will be a half grain, half extract beer. The method iinvolves a no sparge mash of about 2.5 kg of grain, the resulting wort is boiled, hopped and cooled then added to the fermenter with a 1.7 kg kit or 1.5 kg tin of liquiid extract along with 10 or so litres of chilled water.
The demo will run for about 3 hours.
This is a good compromise method of brewing. It requires only minimal gear and it is quite forgiving. It is also a good preparation and foundation for progressing to all grain brewing.
