Brewed my first dunkel today, cant wait til this baby is ready for consumption.

4.5kg JW light munich
1kg JW Dark munich
150g Cara aroma
130g Carafa 1

1054
25 IBU's

Wlp 833 Bock lager yeast.

Im hoping for a dark malty lager. So far, the colour looks a lot similar to the one down at the local german club, and clarity is good ( although its not fermented yet!! ). I intend to primary ferment , do a d rest , then rack into the keg, and leave uncarbed for around 6 weeks in the fridge ( 4c ). Will post results when ready. mmmmmmm dunkel !!
 
That is a great yeast for those malty lagers :super:

I used it on a dunkel last year and it was one of the best beers I have brewed.

Mmmm, sounds scrumptious.
Sounds spot on, decent yeast, right specs.
You using halletau?
 
Sure am :D . Fermenting nicley at 12c, with 2" krausen mmmmmmm, will try to drop to 10c.
 
One of my favourites, looks really good and will probably taste even better.
