A small international incident has been kicking off over the past week, as our favourite corporate overlords, Diageo, had a major panty-twist about not winning the prize for Bar Operator of the Year at The British Institute of Inkeeping's Scotland annual awards.

Such was the magnitude of the panty-twist, they threatened to yank all their sponsorship for the event, so the BII in their infinite wisdom (and to the detriment of any kind of ethics whatsoever) took the prize away from the actual winners: BrewDog, and gave it to Diageo.

Problem was, that, they'd already told BrewDog they had won, and they even gave Diageo the trophy with BrewDog's name on it.

Here's BrewDog's usual ranty take on it: http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/diageo-v-brewdog with admission from The BII about what happened.

If they can do it, I'm in.

"and we present the award to our sponsors, but the real winners names are engraved on the trophy"

Some great publicity for brewdog who like to promote themselves as the underdog, almost too good.

This definitely calls for a special edition ale.
Maybe "Goliath's A C*#%" Or brewdog's "no more tears" :)

Maybe a stout named "Black is Bad" is in order.

While they do like to seek controversy, I'd be very surprised in even they went with that name.
