Im curious What do biab-ers use? Is it that diferant?Hi Brauneister owners,
Just wondering what brewing software you use? I'm finding beersmith next to useless.

I'm the same with sparging. I'm an urn biab'er. Brewmate is my software of choice, it gives me the overall numbers and split the water between mash and sparge. If i plan on a sparge i just put less water in at the start and use the difference for sparging.
Seems to work ok. I did biab before converting the urn so just used the sttings i had determined with biab.
much like the constipated accountant, i mange to work it out with a pencil!
Enjoy
James
This is not meant to sound like me being a smart arse by why do you need a BIAB section in beersmith?
Can't you just adjust the mash in water volume to show a full volume mash, no sparge?
Step mashing can be done via infusion, temperature raising (HERMS, RIMS, Braumeister) or decoction and all options are there in beersmith.

Only in Kin Kin.:icon_offtopic: But funny, a couple of weeks ago a guy came to our local post office and asked if there was an internet cafe in town. The post master answered "no , why do you need to send an email?" He answers "no I need to get a phone number" "Well I can lend you a phone book" the PM replies, "Oh yea that'll be good, I never thought of that."
True story.
