When I first started brewing I drank the required 30 longnecks bottled the first batch and thought what do I do now?

Went to a mates wedding the next weekend and spoke with the reception center staff and was back there midday Sunday collecting Approx 8 dozen bottles drunk the night before.

Call your local reception venue and ask. Most have to pay to get rid of their old glass and wii happily let you take what you want.

Good point Frogman. I dont use many longnecks but get all my stubbies from the local on a Sat Morning. Easy peasy. Couple of hundred in a go. ;)

I just drive around my neighbourhood (usually just going to and from work) and average 1/2 - 1 dozen a week just lying on the side of the road. Have collected over a 150 so far using this method.

I get mine from friends! I have a few people who keep their empties for me, so I don't have a problem.

Also, I keg so I don't need to bottle very often- makes the demand for bottles a lot lower as well.

Hey Frogman,

A lot of home brew shops sell them too - one of my locals sells 28 (brand new ones - in a box) for either $24 or $28 and I cant remember which. I think they are only 650 Ml bottles as opposed to the normal long necks which about 750 (if my memory serves me right) - might work out cheaper than buying a batch of 30 full ones and scoffing 'em all! lol - maybe not as much fun though :chug:

I've just been looking into this here in Sydney & can report the following:

COSPAK 9820 8999
$100 min order
650ml BEER BOTTLE C/SEAL AMBER HG650A 28/pack, $19.10 inc GST / pack = $0.68 / bottle
330ml BEER L/NECK C/SEAL AMBER 30146AC 52/pack$13.73 inc gst / pack = $0.26 / bottle

Plasdene 9773 8666
Min order =?
640ml Glass Beer Bottle - 12 Pack 88c each bottle +gst , 96 bottles = $84c each +gst , 120 = 81c each+gst
330ml Glass Beer Bottle - 12 Pack 44cents each + gst

Second that frogman, reception centres are definitely the way to go. Most of my bottles came from my cricket presentation night or sisters engagement party.

The real problem is finding a place to store them all, 150 longnecks take up a fair bit of room, and im looking to add at least another couple of brews while the weather is cold.
