The enemy of finished beer is oxygen. It is really important to not splash during racking and bottling. That is why when you rack, you use a transfer tube and have minimum headspace. It is also why you have the bottle filling device, to minimize splashing.
Oxidised beer looses its hop flavours quickly, will show sherry like aromas and often develops a wet cardboard aroma.
You probably won't lose much of your carbonation, but you will run the risk of oxidising the beer.
