Bodeer Check Valves

Hi all.

just got some ebay Bodeer quick disconnect type check valves for the reg. They came with brass barbs and two blue plastic clips that look far to feeble to act as a clamp so I gather it's got something to do with sliding under the end ring that pulls part out to allow for installing or removing the barb?

Do the blue c clips stay on when in use like the pictured item linked below or removed and the pull out end bits pushed back in?

Asking for clarification before fitting

Rather than risk the guesses and other 'helpful' advice on this forum ?

'Helpfully', I believe they just keep the fitting pulled out and locked tight on the line, leave them in (once you've jammed your line in there)

They are:

2 x locking clip

But then yyr, it's not my gas/beer that will spew forth in the event of bad advice.
