Its been asked before if its safe to collect yeast from a blow off tube. In this case I think its safe. I re-pitched some (2 soup ladles) 1496 West Yorshire from an English IPA into a Chocolate Milk Stout directly after kegging the IPA. This was on Monday. Today this is what I have.

I had about an inch of Starsan solution in the bottom of the 1lt flask which I hope hasnt damaged the yeast too much. What ever stout is in the flask still seems to be fermenting as there is bubbles of yeast rising to the top every now and then. My plan is to decant the "stout" and top it up with distilled or pre boiled water and tip what I can in to a mason jar or maybe 2. Ill do that tomorrow after the "stout" has finished fermenting :D. It look slike there is more yeast since I took the pictures. It must have settled a bit.

Top cropped yeast should be pretty healthy I think?
