Thats funny Rubes I can't get into the hombrew digest forum site either for a few days now, wonder whats going on.
Couldn't tell you for sure if they are the same, but I believe that most style guides are adapted from the BJCP one.

I believe the homebrew digest server was being taken down "for a few hours or longer" to change the ip address and replace some hardware according to the last digest I received.

You never miss the water 'til the well runs dry.
I'm sure some of you have wondered about the HBD server. It's off-line, and this not only means that HomeBrew Digest isn't being issued, it also means that you can't get to many club sites, The Brewery, Recipator, BJCP, and so on. It happened because HBD server slave Pat Babcock took it off for maintainence and it's taking longer to get back. The following tells the story (please relay to interested parties):
Pat tipped us off on May 5 in a post to HBD:

I have no idea what all this means, except the "real life" Pat refers to involves a wife, five young kids, and perhaps another master's degree (not sure about that one).

Tried again to get on today in the hope it was back.
There is a page there now though with the following detail.

HOME OF THE HOMEBREW DIGEST
Unfortunately, the HBD and related systems are down at the moment. We are FINALLY moving the HBD onto its new server. This sudden flurry of activity was precipitated by failures related to our recent upgrade in IP space. The new box should make the wait worthwhile - BLINDING speed (2.6GHz processor) and plenty (360 GB) of storage. Please bear with. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait...

If you weren't trying to reach HBD.ORG, you may have been trying to reach one of the domains hosted by us on the BREW server. These will be out of commission for the short term as well - though, they'l likely return to being before the HBD itself does (only because they'll be easier to configure than I expect the the HBD scripts will be...)

I will try to post progress reports as I work, but I'm notorious for "just do it", so progress news updates will be sporadic while I expect the progress to be continuous.
