Had a cobber wanting to step into homebrewing and asked me what material he should read, gotta admit I kinda drew a blank as I learned Homebrewing on-line pretty much. Be keen to know what books you guys have read on the subject. Cheers.

John J Palmer's 'How to Brew' is my go to reference and remains at arm's reach.

Agree that’s a great all encompassing reference book - for new brewers though it should come with a warning that it covers a very wide field from just starting to more complex processes etc

So tell your mate not to get himself confused but to take the bits he needs as he learns / expands his brewing
