Hi all!

I have just had my latest brew- an attempt at a strong belgian blond like a leffe etc- going for 8 days in the fermenter at 20c
The recipe is below- OG was 1.065.
Now the SG is around 1.011.

My questions are these:

1. is this where the gravity will stop given the high amount of fermentables? seems a little too high?
2. my beer is still pretty cloudy. what is the best way to get it clearer? put it in secondary and wait? filter? any suggestions?

tastes great though!

cheers

hmmm.. no replies?

what about gelatin and polyclar? is that a reasonable thing to do for an ale?

cheers

on the calculater im using that is 82% attenuation and should be fine. to clear the beer crash chill cold as you can then fine with gelatine wait a day and then use polyclar. it should come out very clear after that treatment and no need to risk ruining the beer by using a secondary.

Will i still be able to carbonate in the bottle? will the gelatin/polyclar remove the yeast?

does anyone know if that regime with the gelatin and the polyclar would have any negative effect on the carbonation in the bottle?

cheers

should carbonate just fine, it might take a bit longer than usual because a lot of the yeast will have dropped out of suspension but will be fine otherwise.
