Florian, unless the format has changed, when I went there it was a big hall with heaps of brewerie's booths around the walls and down the middle. Entry fee payable, you can buy the tickets through Tiketek or whatever the NZ equivalent is. Then flash your ticket at the door and you get a 7 ounce beervana glass to keep. Draught Beers were 3 or 4 NZgrommets per glass IIRC. (late edit: the booths that were doing only bottles all had bottles open so you could buy a seven without having to drink a whole bottle at a time) .Lots of hand pumps. There's a program of events in the side halls, e.g. Wey lecture etc. so look out for announcements. Food and nibbles stalls. Should all be on their site. I don't remember too much about the later part of the session but I tried my best to get round all the booths.

I've booked flights and tickets, so i'll be there. Hope to catch up with some other Brewers as i'm flying solo

Cheers Bribie, just the info I was after.

Don't feel like a full on conference thing like ANHC or QHC this time around as I'm mainly there to have a good time with my mate. Looks like we'll definitely end up there once or twice.

Can't wait to head over there now!

Either that or the wind will pick you up and dump you in Wellington Harbour.

Just a bit...Not too much left of parts of Wellington ATM

Ok, slight exaggeration but pretty fcked up.

Tickets are booked, went to GABS this year (volunteered for 2 sessions) and it was great so super pumped for this. We also don't fly out until Monday so hopefully Sunday we can see a few more bars for some hair of the dog.

For anyone heading over to Wellington and on the lookout for a decent bottle shop i can highly recommend regional wines and spirits in Te Aro.

Have picked up a few beauties there today, and they also fill growlers (riggers) from ten or so taps.

Will do, am not actually going to Beervana though, just hanging out with a mate in Wellington.

You can get some pretty good craft beers at the super markets also. Places like New World, Countdown and Pack n Save generally stock a few decent beers along with the not so decent. Pretty pricey though, but if you've come all the way to Wellington, I guess price isn't really an issue.

Hey Guys,

I'm an Australian living in Wellington, PM if you need anything. Craftbrew orientated bars are: Hashigo Zake, Malthouse, Goldings FD, Little Beer Quarter, The Hop Garden.

Will be attending tonights session.

Michael

Im going to tonights session as well, Ive heard it gets pretty crowded so Ill try and get there when it opens.

Last night was good, was good to see the boys from Mountain Goat (Dave and Cam) there serving beers, and not some representative on their behalf. Just got a phone call from the Blackrock crew, my Simcoe Stout took out 2nd place in the Beervana homebrew comp. So Stoked! For what its worth, this beer was made with no-chill, no O2 and dry yeast which wasn't rehydrated!

Any of you guys still in Welly? More bloody earthquakes...
