Hey Guys,
I am making a beer as follows:-

55% Pilsener grain
45% Wheat malt

Green Bullet 10g @ 60
Amarillo 15g @ 15

us-05
OG 1.048 /1.050

I have made this before with Riwaka as the 15 min hop add. but have none now so will use Amarillo I have.
Question is,"What style would this beer be classed as"?
Thanks,
wombil.

If you're talking BJCP styles, then yeah, probably American Wheat (although I'd personally like to see more late hops for that style). If the wheat malt character doesn't carry through that much, it might also pass as a Blonde Ale.

Arrrrrrrrrr,
Thought I might have got something a bit more classy / flash sounding but that looks like it.
It goes down orright ,that's the main thing.

You can call it an American Imperial Leichtes Weizen if you really want a wanky sounding name :)

Ha, thats gold.

I think American Wheat is a great style, you can make it a little bit lower gravity than an APA, but maintain the body. You can make it as hoppy as you like (unless you want to enter competitions).

I like to add a bit of rye to mine as well.

Were you aiming for anything in particular? Are you entering it into a comp? If not, then call it anything you like :D

There might be other possibilities depending on how bitter it is and how much yeast character there is - if fermented low, you could have something pseudo-lagerish or maybe even something along the lines of a new world pils.

No comps mate, just make it for myself.Vortex 's wanky name sounds good.
Aussie wankyweet, how's that sound?
