Beer Keg Cleaner Thingy

hi guys ,just noticed down at my bowling club they use a small keg,looks like about 18 litres for cleaning out the beer lines with a cleaner and compressed air or somthing simialar,this is apparently the old way of doing it as our bar manager says the pubs use a newer system,he reckons that some of the local pubs would still have the old kegs/containers,anyone know if they are usable in a home keg system or if they are suitable for a home kegs for putting beer in
