Just in case you guys don't know the Bathurst show is coming up in a months time.
There is a home brewing comp as part of the show.

They have no Smoked category, no herb/spice category, no fruit beer or belgian category. Whats the go there? I know they arent popular beers and are hence uneconomical to have trophies and prizes made up for them, but why cant they make them "certificate only" categories? That way they can easily hurdle the cost issue and still have these important categories open for entry. I have several beers I would love to have entered, but I wont now, even though only one of them falls under the missing categories. Just call it my silent protest. :angry:

I believe in the past they have not had a lot of interest in those categories.
You also need to get the appropriate people to judge them too.

Maybe if there was enough interest shown they could be added in the future. I suggest you contact the steward listed on the entry form. He may also be able to provide a more substanial answer.
