I'm a big fan of the Coopers products but there's not a store within cooee that carries the higher-end stuff. The local Brewcraft sells liquid malts by Briess and Black Rock ... are they all essentially the same as each other? Would there be a noticeable difference from one to the other?

All three are different, maybe not dramatically but enough to notice.

Personally I thing the Coopers range (Morgans are the same malt) are best for Ale, the Blackrock (only three of them) are very nice for Lager and Briess a bit in-between, they all make good beer and ultimately it will come down to personal preference and availability.

The Briess Pilsner and the Dark in the Blackrock are real standouts for me, buts that's very much a subjective opinion.

I find I like dry malt

does not age as much , ie colour

easy to store

use @ 80% of liquid

I buy my light dry malt in a 20 kg bag , about $170 , so it cheap
