Just discovered there was evidently a big brown ant in my DME which must have snuck in in the couple of days it was left open.

It made the boil - sadly, departing this existence - and carried over into my 3L erlenmeyer.

What do you think - drama or just extra nutrients for the 1272 about to start its party?

Nah if it's been boiled no problem. No worse than a grain bug that gets milled, mashed and boiled.

Sweet. I will be disappointed if I don't get a growth factor of at least 7 with the added ant.

Bugs love booze. I often find kamikaze mosquitos who have carked it in my airlocks. And I don't know how many bee parts have got into my latest mead, but I think lots.

Just call it a batch of AdrAnt brewing and all is ok. I would just taste the starter before pitching it and if it passes the taste test, all is good.

I must say, I'm Anticipating a good brew...

Thread cleaned, plenty of off topic threads to display ones witty humour.
