By the way, yes, Australasia has contributed beer styles to the world, but you won't see them listed on the chart of 104 different beer styles because frankly BeerAdvocate needs to update its list of beer styles.
 
I think it a very misleading article.
Really all it is saying that more people talk about AIPA on an American based beer chat/review site than any other style.
Not really a surprise, not very useful either. When you consider that 90% of the beer made in the world is light fizzy mega swill lager.
Don't see the point really, it isn't even really the most popular beer (certainly not by volume) just a count of how many names there are for beers in a given style.
