Moderation Guidelines
These guidelines are an explanation of any course of action taken by administrators or moderators and are relevant to the site rules found here. http://aussiehomebrewer.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras§ion=boardrules
Rules 2,3,4,5,6, 7, 11,12 and 17
Are to be strongly adhered to and a moderator will take immediate action. The content will be removed and the member will receive a PM stating why.
As per “Repeat Breaches” within the site rules.
1st Offence - PM or official warning, Level dependant
2nd Offence - Official warning or 24hr suspension, Level dependant
3rd Offence - 7 day or 1 month suspension, Level dependant
4th Offence - 1 month, 12months or Permanent ban dependant on situation and level of offence.
Level 1. Derailing technical thread with silly banter.
Action - L1, you get points for the first two times and a short suspension on the 3rd.
Level 2. Deliberate, belligerent derailing of thread for nuisance value.
Action - L2. Points, then suspension for subsequent offenses.
Level 3. Abuse of members or open defiance of moderation, member expectations, guidelines or site rules.
Action - L3, points, immediate suspension, and the next offense is a longer suspension again.
All warning points will be removed after 90 days.
Rule 14.
Any complaints regarding moderation will be removed. Please PM Admin or a Moderator if you do not agree with any decisions made. Public complaints will only lead to personal attacks. Please be patient whilst awaiting the reply as there may need to be further discussion before replying.

Recipes and ingredients
Threads in this section are to stay on topic. At the first sign of "hijacking" a moderator will post a request to keep on topic. Any further off topic after that point will be removed. If the “off topic” posts are useful they will be moved to the relevant section.
Banter that prompts further discussion on the topic will remain.
Thread "hijacking" is when a threads original topic is lost due to individuals posting completely unrelated information. If a thread is hijacked, the moderators may take action to split the thread. This is not to say other valid points relating to the original topic cannot be discussed, but please consider the relevance of your post to the topic. If it is not relevant to the topic at hand then please raise a new thread. This will ensure that the search function on the site remains a valuable tool.

Posts are to be keep reasonably on topic. A moderator will post a reminder if it is deemed to be “derailed”. If the “off topic” posts are useful they will be moved to the relevant section.
Meet ups and brew clubs
This section is for the enjoyment of members. General banter and fun posts are fine. If any member finds a post to be not within the spirit of this community ( rule 11), please report it. A moderator will investigate, discuss and take the appropriate action.
As per expectations of members.
Marketplace

Retailers are to ensure that they follow the above rules. If a moderator or administrator believes a breach has occurred they will contact the retailer to discuss.
If a retailer believes a breach has occurred please report or contact a moderator or administrator.
Constant bumping of retail threads by members is not necessary. Posts stating “you will be making an order” or “you just made an order” are not necessary please use the PM function or business email for this.
Of course feedback on a retailers performance is appreciated but please post in one of the many threads available not in the thread related to products or sales etc. If you cannot find a thread related to this retailer, post a new one. If necessary a moderator can merge it with an existing one.
