2014 Rhizomes for sale - Cascade & Chinook

I'll be interested to see how much rhizome it produced. Its good if you can cover the crown with soil as any shoots that grow up through the soil tend to turn into rhizome.

I have never grown any hops and I live in central Vic where we get some severe frosts. Can hops tolerate frost or will they die?

They'll be fine. The usual advice is to plant them after the last frost and once established the crown will easily survive the sort of frost you would get in central Victoria.

I don't expect the original poster to have the number of rhizomes that people have ordered thus far.

Will hops grow around the Gold Coast, a bit inland from the sea? I really want to grow my own but don't want it to be a waste of time...

OK Change of plan lads.
I cant be bothered dividing these two up so if anyone wants both the Cascade and Chinook in 100+ litre pots........$50 and they are yours. The photo was taken in spring last year and that was thier second year. The Chinook on the left grew up to the top wire and the Cascadr went about 3/4's of the way.
Pick up at Cameron Park (Newcastle).
