If your Thermapen is not totally rooted be interesting to compare the readings, tested mine against my glass laboratory thermometer and it reads the same.

The Thermapen is not totally rooted I just need to keep opening and closing the probe to get it to work. It’s less than two years old and still under warranty but I bought it through a friends ebay account in the UK so apparently would need to return it there.
