Hi Guys,

I just received my first 2 (second hand) corny kegs yesterday in preparation for a Keezer build. The odd thing is, each keg had 2 o-rings for the lid. Is this normal?

All the info I've had up to this point is there should be one. I haven't re-assembled the kegs yet after stripping and cleaning so I don't know if they seal with one o-ring, but should I now be expecting to use 2 every time?

i use only one ring per keg, they could be spare's.try with one ring on.it should pull up tight, once you pull the handle over

I have 8 kegs and have to use 2 o-rings for the lid on one of them to get a seal, the rest seal with just the 1. Agree though that 1 should be enough.for most kegs to get a nice tight seal.

One tip - make sure you swap the o-rings on the posts for new ones, even if they look fine. Its really not worth losing a keg full of beer to a leaky out-post just for the sake of a few cents. It really, really hurts...

OK thanks guys. I'll put them together over the weekend and see what happens. I won't have the gas and reg setup til next week so then I'll know for sure.

And Blind Dog I've got one fresh seal set with another on the way. Not taking any chances with those. Should I be replacing the poppets as well?

What hurts even more is having to clean all that stale, sticky beer out out of your keezer, off the other kegs and gas cylinder.
I HATE cleaning :(
